Noxtua isn't responding – what should I do now?

Symptoms
You send a message, and Noxtua doesn't answer or stops responding. You may see one of the following:
Thinking … or Generating … stays on screen, and no text appears.
The answer cuts off halfway through a sentence.
Pressing Enter does nothing, and the send button displays Stop response.
A red banner: An error occurred – The request could not be completed. Please try again. with a Try again button.
A dialog: Session expired – Sign in again to continue.
In the chat area: Something went wrong – This view could not be loaded. Your saved chats are not affected.
Under a question card or proposal: Please answer the question above to continue. Or: Please accept or discard the proposed skill to continue.
Quick fix
Reload the page (F5 on Windows, Cmd+R on Mac). Noxtua continues working on your answer even if the connection drops, so a reload usually brings the full answer back.
Look for a message on screen. Session expired, Limit reached, or a question from Noxtua each requires its own step – see Causes & solutions below.
Only if no answer appears after the reload, click Try again or resend your message.
Tip: Don't click Try again right away. If Noxtua is still writing the answer in the background, a second send is rejected and the error banner appears again.
Causes & solutions
The causes are ranked from most to least likely. Start at the top.
1. Noxtua is still working on a long task
How to tell: The Send button shows Stop response, and the step line (for example, searched 4 · read 6) or the Progress panel keeps updating.
Wait. Research that reads many sources or long documents can take several minutes.
Open the step line or the Progress panel to see what Noxtua is doing right now.
If it takes too long, click Stop response, then ask a more specific question or split the task into smaller parts.
Check: The step count goes up and the answer appears, or your narrower question gets an answer.
2. Noxtua is waiting for your input
How to tell: You see "Please answer the question above to continue" or "Please accept or discard the proposed skill to continue".
Scroll up to the question card or the skill proposal in the chat.
Answer the question. If you don't mind, choose Skip or No preference – please make an assumption.
For a skill proposal, click Accept or Discard.
Check: Noxtua continues, and the answer begins to appear.
3. The connection dropped while the answer was loading
How to tell: The answer stopped midway, or the error banner appeared after your laptop went to sleep, you switched tabs for a while, or your Wi-Fi or VPN connection changed.
Check that you are online, for example, by opening another website.
Reload the page. Noxtua keeps generating on the server and shows the answer again from the start.
If the answer is still missing after a reload, send your message again.
Check: The full answer is in the chat after the reload.
4. The same chat is open in another tab or on another device
How to tell: The error banner appears immediately after you send, and the chat is also open in a second tab, window, or on another computer.
Close the other tabs or windows with this chat.
Wait until the answer there has finished, or click Stop response there.
Reload this tab and send your message again.
Check: Your message is sent without the error banner.
5. Your session has expired
How to tell: A Session expired dialog asks you to sign in again.
To be safe, copy your unsent message.
Click Sign in, then sign in with your usual account.
Open the chat again and send your message.
Check: The chat loads, and your message is answered.
6. The chat view has crashed
How to tell: The chat area shows Something went wrong – This view could not be loaded.
Click Try again in the chat area.
If that doesn't help, open another chat or New chat, then come back.
If it still fails, reload the page.
Check: The chat loads with its history. Your saved chats are not affected.
7. Your browser is blocking Noxtua
How to tell: Noxtua works in a private window or another browser, but not in your usual one.
Update your browser to the latest version.
Turn off ad blockers and privacy extensions for the Noxtua site.
Clear the cache and cookies for the Noxtua site, then sign in again.
Check: Noxtua answers appear in your usual browser window.
8. Noxtua has a service disruption
How to tell: None of the steps above help, and colleagues experience the same problem at the same time.
Wait 10 to 15 minutes and try again.
Ask your Noxtua admin whether a disruption is known to them.
Contact support (see Still not working below).
Check: Noxtua answers again for you and your colleagues.
Prevent it next time
Use one tab per chat. Noxtua answers one message per chat.
Wait for an answer to finish before sending the next message.
Answer Noxtua's questions when a question card appears. Noxtua pauses until you respond.
Keep your browser up to date, and allow the Noxtua site in ad blockers and privacy extensions.
Reload instead of resending when an answer appears stuck.
Still not working
Contact Noxtua support at support@noxtua.com. Your Noxtua admin can also submit the request for you.
Include this in your request so we can help quickly:

Time of the issue, with date and time zone
Chat name, or the link to the chat

Screenshot of the entire window. Cover any client names or confidential content first.
What you already tried, for example, reload, private window, other browser
